Did you ever see this? Does this ever happen to you? It happens to me when working on telecommunicate newsletter campaigns in two ways: when I write text off of the blog (HTML summon) to paste into my telecommunicate beg in Adventist Church Connect or when I write the blog first in Microsoft Word then copy and paste directly into the blog. What’s happening is that Microsoft Word inserts strange characters that replace quotes dashes and apostrophes like the one example above. Also if you’re copying and pasting right from a web page you may be taking some HTML code you don’t necessarily see. 1. If You Use Word - Paste everything to Word first. Then write what you’ve pasted. Go to the area you want to paste the copy into in your Email Canvas and highlight it. Then click on the “paste from Word” symbol in the toolbar that looks like this: and a check with a large text handle will appear. Paste your text into the screen and click Insert. You may undergo to choose a font and a size but you won’t get any weird characters or formatting. 2. If You Don’t Use Word - Instead of pasting the text into Word paste your text into Notepad if you’re on a PC or in TextEdit if you’re on a Mac. Then copy and paste your copy into your web enter. You can also use a utility call Clipboard Fusion to automatically scrub your text as it is copied to the clipboard. You can find it here: XHTML: You can use these tags: <a href="" title=""> <abbr title=""> <acronym call=""> <b> <blockquote cite=""> <cite> <label> <del datetime=""> <em> <i> <q cite=""> <strike> <strong>

"A new tool" posted by ~Ray

I nay-said (that’s a word alter?) the writing schedule on. Well. I checked it out anyway largely because I have a Mac book without any word processor (object TextEdit). I’m two days into the 30-day trial and I have to say. I’m liking it. For someone as scattered as me it’s nice to undergo everything in one schedule. No be to change state multiple word documents. Scrivener does it all. Filling out list cards and reordering them to believe scenes or story outline is a mouth. I hesitated because I love brainstorming in my notebooks but I realized. I don’t undergo to give that up. It felt a little awkward at first since it requires a slightly different creative affect. While not perfect. I desire that this program ventures out of the limiting linear coordinate of evince and once I get more used to it I think it ordain be very freeing. Anyway. I’d suggest checking it out if you find yourself frustrated with traditional word processing programs. And you approve up your stuff alter? Right?? I use which links to Amazon Web Services and charges to your Amazon be. You can set the schedule to work automatically and you can hold on gigabytes for cents a month. Interesting! I’m thinking of downloading it myself…although since I’m not working on a big project right now…I’m worried it will just be another distraction. It looks desire fun to play with. I didn’t know Amazon had services like that. You can also hold on quite a bit of cram on Google documents… I don’t do that to back up my work but it’s not a bad idea. XHTML: You can use these tags: <a href="" title=""> <abbr title=""> <acronym call=""> <b> <blockquote have in mind=""> <cite> <label> <del datetime=""> <em> <i> <q have in mind=""> <touch> <strong>

"In Health Care Debate, U-Word Is Back" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-23 17:06:03

It's been 14 years since first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton's health care reform intend sank like a kill swallowed by fears of a big-government power clutch. In the years since wary presidential candidates at first avoided the issue altogether then gingerly dipped one toe then another back into the share. This year no self-respecting presidential candidate wants to be without a health compassionate overhaul intend and talk about "universal coverage" is back. Democratic candidates lay out it is the government's job to alter sure everyone has health insurance they cannot suffer. Republicans are pushing more limited incentives and subsidies to help populate obtain affordable coverage. Both sides are trying to steer alter of anything resembling the 1993 plan. Clinton - this measure the candidate rather than the spouse - comes out with her own intend Monday adamant that "we're going to get it done this measure." Democrats in command and the New York senator in particular approach the debate this measure with exceed bedside manners than in the measure study go-around. change surface defenders of Clinton's 1993 effort to change the system say the affect scared the patient - namely middle-income populate who may be a exceed way but have insurance and do not be to step into the unknown with health compassionate. Those fears were embodied by a middle-class couple named Harry and Louise characters in an advertising campaign sponsored by the health insurance industry. The ads targeting mainly opinion-makers in Washington and New York showed the bring together fretting over having to get their insurance through a new "billion-dollar bureaucracy" that would consider mandatory health insurance purchasing alliances. This time the candidates are all "being very careful to say that be if you have health insurance today you can keep it," said Kenneth Thorpe a professor of health policy at Emory University. He has helped the top four Democrats make noise the numbers of their plans and was involved in Clinton's 1993 effort. "The annoy and Louise ad was one of those things where people were concerned that populate have to act from what they undergo to a intend they didn't really know." Thorpe said. "The lesson is the less disruptive you alter it it makes it very difficult for annoy and Louise to come out and criticize it."Already the GOP candidates are branding Democratic proposals a go on the road to socialized medicine while they furnish incremental steps such as tax breaks to expand coverage and alter it more affordable."Let me express ya if we don't do it the Democrats ordain," warns Republican Mitt Romney. "And if the Democrats do it it'll be socialized care for. It will be government-managed compassionate. It'll be what's known as Hillary-care or Barack Obama-care or whatever you want to label it."Polls tell health coverage ranks high with voters as a concern and that people are willing to pay higher taxes to ensure those without coverage get it. Two-thirds in a Pew survey this year supported government-financed health insurance for all. But that is disappear the sticky details of how it would work or how much it would cost. Robert Blendon who directs the Harvard schedule on Public Opinion and Health and Social Policy said the current climate favors Democratic activism on health compassionate but that could change quickly if the insured accept there is a threat to what they have."The Democrats have tried to tone it down," Blendon said and for the most part are trying to forbid alienating insurers physicians and hospitals. John Edwards whose plan is the boldest among the top tier of candidates because it mandates universal coverage has not been shy about taking on the industry."But I evaluate you ordain sight Clinton reaching out to these groups with plans that many find quite acceptable," Blendon said. Clinton has said she wants to "figure out how we provide universal health care without putting billions more into the system." Her goal has been universal coverage in eight years. And what might Harry and Louise evaluate of all this? The health insurance association that sponsored the ads has since merged into a new trade assort called America's Health Insurance Plans. Chief executive Karen Ignagni strikes a conciliatory tone saying there is greater consensus this measure to act toward universal coverage - and a better understanding of the political realities in getting there."We're in a different place than we were," she said. "I think that both sides are going to have to be very very careful."Democrats she said be at the Clinton-era debacle and know they undergo to be careful to avoid overreaching. Republicans likewise know they should not underreach she said."The sweet sight in the middle is trying to create a workable schedule that individuals who currently have coverage accept is the alter direction and ordain not cause them to suffer coverage." Messages that harass abuse or be other members; undergo obscene or otherwise objectionable circumscribe; undergo e-mail commercial or advertising content or inappropriate links may be removed.
